Description: To represent the areas susceptible towards wind erosion or water erosion in the country based on an evaluation of the inherent soil characteristics. These layers are used as input data layers towards the Soil capability data layer that in turn informed the national Land capability data layer. The Wind / Water erosion susceptibility evaluation data layer is a sub-set of the Soil capability data layer depicting the soil capability evaluation values of the area concerned in a range from 1 – 9 values. Both the wind and water erosion susceptibility evaluation data layers are raster data layers supported by integer values ranging from 1 – 9, with the value of 1 being the highest possible risk value and 9 being the lowest possible risk value. The data layers are seamless data layers and do not exclude permanently transformed areas (built up; waterbodies; mining etc.) Read the detailed description on the compilation of the land capability and soil capability evaluation 2016 data layers for more information thereon.https://westerncape.sharepoint.com/teams/ProvincialSpatialInformation/Shared%20Documents/Forms/AllItems.aspx?newTargetListUrl=%2Fteams%2FProvincialSpatialInformation%2FShared%20Documents&viewpath=%2Fteams%2FProvincialSpatialInformation%2FShared%20Documents%2FForms%2FAllItems%2Easpx&viewid=2a67bc52%2D478c%2D4729%2Dbd46%2D7371b83eb576&id=%2Fteams%2FProvincialSpatialInformation%2FShared%20Documents%2FSpatial%20Data%2FData%20National%20Departments%2FDALRRD
