The Western Cape Biodiversity Spatial Plan (WCBSP) 2017 is the product of a systematic biodiversity planning assessment that delineates, ona map (via a Geographic Information System (GIS)), Critical Biodiversity Areas (CBAs) and Ecological Support Areas (ESAs) whichrequire safeguarding to ensure the continued existence and functioning of species and ecosystems, including the delivery of ecosystemservices, across terrestrial and freshwater realms. These spatial priorities are used to inform sustainable development in the WesternCape Province. This product replaces all previous systematic biodiversity planning products and sector plans with updated layers andfeatures.
This layer covers the area of Saldanha Bay Local Municipality.
This layer contains Ecological Support Areas category 2(ESA2) which are those ESAs likely to be in a severly degraded condition and require restoration where feasible. Publication Date: 6 March 2017
